Mission Statement & Philosophy of Silk Creek Review:  SCR’s origins began over 5 years ago in a forest along the banks and gorges of Skaneateles Creek (aka Silk Creek).  The Silk Creek Retreat generated terrific work by its participants and co--creators.  Those who made the trek that year and every year since endured and enjoyed the Autumn-weekend retreat in a wilderness setting.  They engaged their creativity and found their muse in the context of Nature.  So often creativity is aided by artificial means or inspired indoors and away from Nature.  I define my editorial leanings for the Silk Creek Review in the spirit and context of this event, The Silk Creek Retreat.  The journal is an extension of this annual October retreat in the awe-inspiring wilderness setting that is the Silk Creek. Our mission is to provide visitors with quality work that is nature-related or in the spirit of Silk Creek and to provide writers, poets, photographers and artists with a quality outlet for such work.  Silk Creek Review Editor Scott Carter
